Non-congress parties destroyed UP: Sonia Gandhi

Highlighting that non-congress parties did nothing for the welfare of the people and development of the state, Congress (I) President Sonia Gandhi during her meeting for the ongoing Assembly elections has said these parties destroyed UP together. “They have all joined hands at one stage or another in the last 22 years and divided you on the basis of caste and religion to rule over you. They are anti-development,” she told the audience while addressing an election rally in Raebareli.

Mayawati went to the extent of making arrangement with BJP for each party ruling the state in turn on six monthly basis while ideologies of BSP and BJP are directly opposite to each other. Wasn’t this arrangement for the benefit of these leaders and their parties at the cost of the welfare of the people? For the sake of power and not for the welfare of the people of UP, Mayawati at other time shook hands with Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Sonia Gandhi said only Congress (I) is committed to the welfare and development of UP while these other parties have been busy in swindling the government funds. Having jolted the opponent parties by calling a spade a spade during her campaign meetings, Sonia Gandhi urged the people to give a chance to Congress to form government. She assured that her party would fulfill their aspirations and never breach the trust the people have reposed in Congress.
