Hitting out hard against BSP and SP for ruling the state over the last 22 years by putting out false promises to the people, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has said these parties are responsible for putting stop on development of UP. These parties have all along indulged in casteist politics to grab power and enjoyed spoils of the game at the cost of the welfare of the people and development of the state, said Rahul Gandhi at a gathering in Lucknow on February 16 for the ongoing Assembly elections. BSP Supremo Mayawati is indifferent to the problems of the people, he added. Referring to their talent and hard work, Rahul Gandhi said labourers of UP by building Delhi Metro and infrastructure in other states brought development in other states but in their own state they are being forced to live without development and in abject poverty. “We have sent thousands of crore for development but where has that money gone?” he asked. Highlighting that these parties are more interested in sharing the spoils of the game than in development of the state, Rahul Gandhi urged the people to vote for change this time and assured that Congress (I) will work for welfare of the people and development of Bundelkhand. “We will do all that these parties failed to do in the last 22 years,” he added.
