Arguing that non-Congress parties had been cheating the people in the name of caste and religion over the past two decades, Congress (I) star campaigner Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had said that development is the right of the people. But in UP it has been relegated to the level of ‘gratitude’, said Priyanka Gandhi while addressing a Congress meeting in Rae Bareli recently during the recently held assembly elections in UP. Priyanka Gandhi had said that she has not come here seeking votes but to wake up the people as otherwise communal forces would continue to mislead and play with the future of people. Reminding that by diverting the attention of the people, they were progressing themselves, Priyanka urged the people to choose a government which strengthens democracy and ensures development of UP. As to the provision of central government funds made available for development of the state, the Congress campaigner said there had been no dearth of funds but the government of UP used it for its own use instead of letting them reach the people.
Addressing various issues of the people, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that the farmers in UP did not get fertilizers; and people failed to get power; it was corruption and anarchy which was encouraged. Priyanka Gandhi said Congress (I) campaign headed by Rahul Gandhi was about the people and development of the state. The Congress campaigner had assured the people that their vote for Congress (I) would be vote for progress of the people and development of the state.
